Amid growing protests by job aspirants in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process, the Hemant Soren-led government has initiated a new channel to directly receive feedback and suggestions from students and other stakeholders.
Jharkhand Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu announced the move after meeting a delegation of protesting aspirants associated with the Devendra Nath Mahto faction.
Speaking after the meeting, Sonu said the government would continue discussions with different student groups and stakeholders before framing a reform policy. “We will continue to meet with various student groups and stakeholders. We will meet with all of them,” Sonu said.
The minister also announced an email address through which students and other stakeholders can submit their concerns and suggestions: JPSSC.feedback@gmail.com.
“Any student, individual, or stakeholder can send suggestions to this address, and we intend to formulate a reform policy and reach a collective decision based on everyone's input,” he said, adding that the government would take the concerns raised through the emails into consideration while deciding its future course of action.
Talks Held Over Alleged Paper Leak
The development comes as the Jharkhand government holds talks with representatives of protesting job aspirants amid allegations of a paper leak and irregularities in the recruitment process.
The protests have put pressure on the state government to address the grievances of students and take corrective measures. The government’s decision to engage with multiple student groups and seek written feedback is being presented as an attempt to build consensus on recruitment reforms.
BJP Attacks INDIA Bloc Over Protests
Meanwhile, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain criticised the opposition over what he described as its silence on the Jharkhand student protests.
Speaking to ANI, Hussain accused the INDIA bloc of following “double standards” on student-related issues, alleging that opposition leaders raise such matters more aggressively when the BJP is in power.
“They are practising double standards. Those who were making grand statements regarding Jantar Mantar are maintaining silence on the Jharkhand matter,” Hussain said.
He specifically questioned the silence of opposition leaders, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, on the grievances of students in Jharkhand.
“The members of the INDI Alliance are completely ignoring the ongoing student protests,” he said.
Hussain also referred to Rahul Gandhi’s proposed ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event in Prayagraj and questioned why similar concerns were not being raised over the Jharkhand protests.
“They make loud statements in Delhi, and Rahul Gandhi even wants to hold a ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event in Prayagraj, yet why do they remain silent on the issue of Jharkhand?” Hussain asked.
The BJP leader said the issue was being closely watched by both the people of Jharkhand and the wider public. “The people of Jharkhand and the entire country are witnessing this,” he added.
