Amid the controversy over a Noida woman allegedly using abusive language against him during a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday night shared a video carrying a message of civility, saying that abuse and hatred can never be the solution to differences.

The video, posted on the Prime Minister's social media platforms, came days after a video from the protest went viral, leading to the registration of a Zero FIR against the woman and triggering a wider debate over political discourse and freedom of expression.

'Abuses Never Solve Anything'

In the video, PM Modi appealed for restraint in public discourse, stressing that disagreements should be expressed constructively.

"Abuses never solve anything. They neither change reality nor help build society. Dialogue, understanding and positive thinking are the way forward," the Prime Minister said.

He also urged people, particularly the younger generation, to choose the path of meaningful discussion over hostility.

Calls for Compassion Towards Youth

Taking a conciliatory tone, the Prime Minister said those who resort to abusive language should be viewed as misguided rather than treated with bitterness.

"I forgive those who abused me and even my mother. They are misguided children. It is our responsibility to guide them in the right direction," PM Modi said.

His remarks were widely seen as a response to the ongoing controversy surrounding the protest video that surfaced online earlier this week.

The controversy erupted after a video from a protest at Jantar Mantar allegedly showed a Noida resident making objectionable remarks against the Prime Minister. Following a complaint, Noida Police registered a Zero FIR, which is being transferred to Delhi Police since the alleged incident occurred in the national capital.

The incident has sparked a broader political and legal debate over the limits of free speech, the use of criminal law in cases involving offensive remarks, and the need for civility in public discourse.
