The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rejected social media claims that the question paper for the upcoming NEET UG 2026 re-examination has been leaked. The clarification comes just days before the re-exam is scheduled to be held on June 21.
According to reports, several posts circulating online alleged that the Re-NEET question paper had been leaked again. In response to one such viral post, the NTA stated that the claim was “fake” and urged students not to believe unverified information.
The agency has also warned that messages claiming to offer leaked papers, advance access, or the sale of question papers are fraudulent and intended to mislead students and parents. NTA said such content is often spread by organised cheating rackets seeking to exploit candidates’ anxiety.
NTA had said that preparations for the re-exam are being closely reviewed at every level. "With coordinated efforts across the Centre, States and Districts, the focus remains on ensuring a smooth and secure examination experience for every candidate," the testing panel said on Friday in an X post.
The original NEET UG 2026 examination, held on May 3, was cancelled after authorities confirmed a paper leak, leading to the decision to conduct a fresh examination on June 21. Since then, the government and NTA have introduced stricter security measures to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.
Officials have advised candidates to rely only on information published through official NTA channels and avoid sharing or trusting rumours circulating online. The agency has reiterated its commitment to conducting the re-examination securely and fairly.
