Rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kakali Ghosh Dastidar has denied any connections to a viral letter circulating on social media that allegedly criticised the West Bengal government and raised concerns over border security issues. The denial comes at a time when the ruling party is facing internal dissent and political uncertainty.

According to reports, the viral letter contained serious allegations regarding the alleged non allotment of land sought by the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF) in areas along West Bengal’s international border. The document also reportedly questioned the state government’s handling of certain security related matters.
The document, which has been widely shared on social media and in political circles, also called for scrutiny of reports relating to public administration, border management and India’s relations with neighbouring countries.

Responding to the controversies, Kakoli Ghosh said that the letter was not written by her and described the claims linking her to it as false. She clarified that she had no role in drafting or circulating the document. In a post on X, Dastidar dismissed reports linking her to the letter and denied any connection with its contents.
“I have not written any letter regarding any issue to Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal, which is being circulated on media. I deny any association with this news,” she wrote.

The development comes amid an ongoing political crisis within the TMC, with a group of rebel MPs challenging the party leadership and claiming support from a significant section of the party’s Lok Sabha members. The rebellion has triggered sharp exchanges between the dissident camp and leaders loyal to former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The controversy surrounding the viral letter has added another layer to the growing tensions within the party, even as TMC leaders continue to reject allegations and defend the government’s record.
