Another shocking incident that brings back memories of Nirbhaya, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped inside a moving sleeper bus in Greater Noida on August 4. The two accused - the bus driver and the conductor - have been arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police, claim officers on Sunday. According to the police, the incident took place near Pari Chowk. In her complaint, the survivor alleged that the accused threatened to kill her if she had resisted to had reported the incident to someone.
According to the police, the complainant who hails from a village in Mainpuri district - in her statement had claimed that - she was travelling to Noida Sector 63 to meet her cousin, a day after she was scolded by her family. On August 4, the minor had left home without informing anyone. Enroute, she had dropped off at Pari Chowk by mistake. According to Police, she had then stopped another bus which claimed was going towards Noida Sector 63. The minor had boarded the bus and as per the complaint, was the only passenger on board. The accused identified as driver Kuldeep and conductor Sandeep, drove the bus for close to 47 kms before dropping her near Kashmere Gate in Delhi.
The surviver was allegedly violated, assaulted and tortured on the moving bus, which drove for so long without being either intercepted or stopped at any of the checkpoints on the Delhi - Noida route. The minor had reported the incident to Kashmiri gate police station, prompting police into action. Police traced through several CCTV footages, later seized the bus and also arrested both Kuldeep and Sandeep from the Timarpur parking lot.
