The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Tuesday announced a unique “diaper donation drive” as part of its ongoing protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, where it has been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the NEET UG examination.
According to the party, supporters have been asked to bring diapers to the protest site and write their demand for the minister’s resignation on them through a post on X. The campaign, named “Diaper A Day Keeps Leaks Away,” is scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening.
"Bring a diaper, write your demand for his resignation on it, and we'll make sure it reaches the education minister," the CJP said.
The protest, which began on Saturday, entered its fourth consecutive day on Tuesday. CJP has said it will continue its agitation until the Union Education Minister resigns over allegations related to the NEET UG paper leak and other examination irregularities.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke also alleged that Delhi Police attempted to reduce the size of the protest area late on Monday night by shifting barricades and squeezing the space allocated for the demonstration.
There was no immediate response from the Delhi Police regarding these allegations.
Candles were also lit at the venue in memory of students who allegedly died by suicide following the paper leak controversy.
On Monday, Dipke said the protest continued to attract a large number of students and supporters despite it being a working day. He maintained that the demonstration would continue through the night and that the party remained committed to seeking accountability over the alleged examination related irregularities.
Student groups and supporters including The Students' Federation of India, All India Students' Association, All India Students' Federation (AISF) have also participated in the protest. The AISF has also set up a free library at the protest site as part of its "Fight for Education with Education" initiative.
The CJP reiterated that it will not end its sit-in until its demand for the Education Minister’s resignation is met.
