At least 19 people were killed and 100 others injured after a Bangladesh Air Force F7 BGI training aircraft crashed into Dhaka’s Milestone College on Monday. Over 50 people, including women and children were rushed to the hospital with burn injuries, confirmed a doctor at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

"Bangladesh Air Force's F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed in Uttara. The aircraft took off at 13:06 (0706 GMT).,” confirmed the Bangladesh Air Force in a statement.

Videos of the tragic incident that have surfaced show the aircraft directly hit the college building. "When I looked back, I only saw fire and smoke... There were many guardians and kids here,” said Rezaul Islam, a teacher of the college, as quoted by BBC. Reports suggest that when the aircraft crashed many people, including children, and faculty were present inside the building.

"This is a moment of deep sorrow for the nation. I wish the injured a speedy recovery and instruct all authorities, including the hospitals concerned, to deal with the situation with utmost importance," said Muhammad Yunus, the leader of Bangladesh’s interim government.
