Rohini Khadse, State Women’s President of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction), has appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to coordinate with the Central Government and ensure adequate security for social media activist and Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke, who is scheduled to return to India on June 6.

In a statement posted on social media, Khadse expressed concern over Dipke’s safety, claiming that the possibility of an attack on him cannot be ruled out due to the threats he has allegedly received in recent times.

Khadse said that Dipke has emerged as a prominent voice for students affected by issues surrounding the NEET examination. According to her, government policies have adversely impacted the aspirations of thousands of students, prompting Dipke to mobilize young people across the country and launch a movement highlighting their concerns.

She alleged that Dipke’s activism has drawn the ire of certain groups, resulting in threats being directed at him. “Abhijeet Dipke is a citizen of Maharashtra, and democracy gives every citizen the right to organize and lead movements. Given the circumstances, there is a possibility that he could face an attack upon his return to India,” Khadse said.

The NCP (SP) leader urged Chief Minister Fadnavis to take personal cognizance of the matter and discuss security arrangements with the Centre to ensure Dipke’s safety.

Dipke, who has gained significant traction on social media through his campaigns and commentary on student-related issues, is expected to arrive in India on June 6.
